The distance between me and this place is so vast that it brings tears to my eyes when I ponder the delightful pastries my husband brings from there. While I can't speak of the establishment firsthand, the pastries he brought vanished in no time. The Cuesito, a cream cheese pastry, reminds me of cherished memories in Puerto Rico. Did my kids and I fight over these? Yes. Did I share with them the last one so it was equal between us all? Absolutely not, mom wins this time. I eagerly anticipate revisiting when we're back in the area to savor everything else on the menu, and I've already requested that my husband make regular stops to bring these treats back to us.

The service is wonderful, food is fresh and very delicious. The chuleta I ordered was bit salty for my taste, other than that all was great.

Food is AUTHENTIC! Service is amazing. ¡Hablan Español tambien! I wish they were open more days of the week. I go to school near by but live in Williamsburg, so I'm not in Petersburg on the weekends.

I was so excited to find a Puerto Rican restaurant in Virginia! and I was even more excited that it was authentic. I had the garlic shrimp mofongo with sweet plantains and everything was delicious and the portions were a generous size. If I'm ever in this area again I'd definitely come back.

I love the Puerto Rican Bakery, when they're open... They are closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, but I persevere! They recently remodeled the place which helped lighten up the place a little and it appears people have noticed as there seems to be much more traffic than in the past. The downside is that depending upon who is working it can take a bit of time to get your order placed and then wait to receive it. My favorite items there are the Arroz con Gondules and Empanadas. There are a number of great empanadas in Richmond, but this one is different. Specifically, the exterior is more dense, looks like a different harina is used, which leaves the outside white. I have a particular fondness for the cheese-filled ones, but the steak one is solid as well. My son like their Parcha (passion fruit drink) and tres leches cake. Absolutely recommend this place for what is the best Puerto Rican eatery in the area!

This food was so delicious, my first taste of the rice was very moist and cooked to perfection. The garlic chicken has so much flavor and the plantains were amazing. I also ordered a beef empanada and it was filled with tasty beef goodness. The staff was very friendly and ready to suggest their favorite dish. The mood was very relaxed and casual, they had culturally appropriate music softly playing in the background. I will be back to try some of their fabulous looking pastries in the display.

Delicious food, friendly staff. A true gem on Boulevard in Colonial Heights. We played it safe on our first visit: arroz con gandules, pernil and maduros. Cuban sandwich and an empanada. We haven't tried our flan de queso yet. Next time I plan to explore the world of mofongo with some guidance from the Orellanas.
